Hi, everyone. My name is Scott, and, yes, I am in the process of uploading my GEDCOM. I have 445(!) names to check, so it may be a few days. The entire GEDCOM is over 1,300...
Many of the nmes in my family tree have been researched by others, so some of my source information is somewhat lacking. I apologize for that.
I have no problem helping others, as well,, but my time is sporadic, due to work and a few different side jobs, as well as family.
Start by importing only 10-20 profiles, so you can get a sense of the time needed to edit each profile. Then you can decide whether to commit to editing an entire GEDCOM.
If your ancestor was born over 200 years ago, she/he may already have a WikiTree profile.
Welcome to WikiTree! Were really glad youre here.
The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site youve ever used.
WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as one collaborative team.
What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research youd like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree?
When you confirm your email address, youll see a Volunteer option on your profile page. Click that and leave us a short message about your genealogical interests.
A Greeters Project volunteer will be happy to confirm your membership, and youll be on your way!

Just checking in with a few quick tips:
http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Free-Space_Profile Free Space pages] are wiki pages for supplementing your family history. They can be used to profile anything of significance such as a special pet, a meaningful event, a school you attended, a family heirloom Theyre anything pages.
Not sure what to include in a profile? Check out ourBiography Ideas and Styles and Standards help pages.
Lastly, sometimes youll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.
If you have any questions, please ask!
