Biography

Felin was born before 1830. Felin O'Neil married Penelope Sullivan on 23 November, 1845 in Oughterard, County Galway, Ireland. No records of him have been found after this date. They appear to have had a son, John B. O'Neill. Penelope travelled with him to the U.S., apparently using her maiden name.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Felin by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Felin:

Note that the first name, Felin, is Irish for Phillip. Many USA relatives know him by the name Phillip O’Neill ... yet the records in the church Penelope and Felin were married in, Church of the Immaculate Conception, in Oughterard, Co Galway, Ireland. I will post a photo of that church record. Felin and Pennelope’s entry is the last line. I will also post some photos of my wife (Carol Veith Browne, Great Great grand daughter to Felin and Penelope O’Neill) during our visit in 2015 to Ireland
