Catherine was the sixth of nine children in the family of James and Mary Ann Nolan O'Neill, and the first daughter. (An older brother died before she was born.)[1] She grew up on the family farm and attended school in Peel Township in Wellington County.[2] She was living at home at age 19.[3]
She married Jerome Kavanaugh when she was about 25, and their first child was born in December 1896.[4] They raised their family of six children on their farm in Peel township.[5]
Their daughter Evelyn died in 1919 at age 11.[6] Three of their children were living with them on their farm in 1921.[7]
Catherine died at age 75 is buried with her husband and daughter in Drayton Victoria Cemetery, Mapleton, Ontario.
