DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Ann by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Ann:

The Ann Oneill you have linked to at thepeerage.com shows only children who died between 1664 and 1677, with Shane Oneill as father -- and that her maiden name was also Oneill, therefore unchanged after that marriage Moreover, this profile, here, at this time, shows an Ann Oneill who married Michael Finley in 1712July followed by a son about 10 months later in 1713May, meaning that the dates taken alone fit logically. However, without documentation, the question is difficult to resolve with certainty, noting that Admiral Stout in Clan Finley does indicate Michael Finley as having married an Ann Oneill. What evidence are you proposing that Michael did not marry Ann Oneill, or for the Ann Oneill who married Shane Oneill as the same Ann? There are other people here just as closely related as yourself, if not moreso, to the subject at hand, and thus interested in seeing the genealogical facts (and lineage) presented accurately. Please inform me if I have made any errors on this matter. (I would also point out that, if the FamilyTree.com YDNA tests are accurate, they indicate that there is also descent of Michael from Mabethea MacFinlay as a real historical figure who had children.)
