Biography

Mary was born in 1927 in Scotland. She moved to America by herself in her early 20s after WWII ended. In 1950 she married a fellow Scot, David Henderson. They settled in Delaware to raise their kids. Around 1967, they decided to move the family to South Florida. Throughout her life she made frequent trips back to Scotland and always kept in touch with her family and friends there. She never lost her heavy Glaswegian accent or unusual Scottish vocabulary. Her husband died in 2001 and a few years later she moved to the Jacksonville, Florida area to live with her son and his family. She passed away at home in April 2013 at the age of 86. [1]
