Landower;1749/50, Goshen Township; 1753, Goshen Township; 1763, Goshen Township; and 1764, Goshen Township.[3][4] He received tax discounts (poor) in 1768, 1771, 1773.[5][6]
A Pennsylvania Warrant dated July 25, 1775 issued John, Samuel and Flower Oakes suggests that Samuel may have had a son named John.[7]
