Cordie Elma Oakes was born on April 4, 1913 in Franklin County, Virginia, United States, daughter of Tasville Carr Oakes (1885–1957) and Lula Kate Yeatts (1892–1974).[1]
Cordie married Melvin Corbin Parsons (born on July 28, 1902 in Pittsylvania, Virginia; son of James Whitehead Parsons and Lillie (Hutson) Parsons).
Cordie died on September 27, 1999 in Chatham, Pittsylvania County, Virginia, aged 86. She was buried in Chatham Burial Park, Chatham, Pittsylvania County, Virginia.[1]
