Biography

James Oakley was born on 6 July 1804 in Ropley, Hampshire, his father, William, was 38 and his mother, Rebecca, was 29. He married Sarah Maria Sherman on 10 November 1845 in Southampton, Hampshire. They had eight children in 23 years. He died in March 1890 having lived a long life of 85 years
