Biography

George (Oaks) Oak was born about February 15, 1720 in Westborough, Worcester County, Massachusetts Bay, son of Nathaniel I. Oak and Mary (Holloway) Rice. [1]

George married as his first wife Lydia Eager, daughter of James & Tabitha (Howe) Eager, on October 23, 1744 in Westborough. [1] [2]

  1. Lucy Oakes, b. Jan. 9, 1745.
  2. Lydia Oakes, b. Aug. 19, 1746.
  3. Sylvanus Oakes, b. March 30, 1749.
  4. Asa "Aseph" Oakes, b. June 15, 1751, d. June 15, 1751.[1][2]
  5. Vashti Oakes, b. April 14, 1754.
  6. Thankful Oakes, b. May 19, 1758.

After the death of wife Lydia in 1758, [1] [2] George married Mercy Bartlett married 13 Jun 1765 in Marlborough, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay Colony[3]

George died on September 10, 1777 in Rutland, Worcester County, Massachusetts, aged 57. [citation needed]
