Biography

Tuckasee was Cherokee.

Tukasee, the Terrapin, was the only documented son of Oconostota. In 1782 the aged Oconostota asked to resign as chief and name his son, Tukeesee, in his place, but the request was refused. [1] [2] In 1794 Tuckasee, as headman at Etowah, was present at the Tellico Blockhouse conference which led to the final end of the Cherokee wars. [3]
