Sion W Odom was born in 1834. He was the son of Phillip Odom and Mary Stubbs. In 1861 he enlisted in the 8th South Carolina Infantry, CSA. He later transferred to the 24th South Carolina Infantry. He was killed in action on Sept 19, 1863 at the Battle of Chickamagua.
