I am related to Edward Bolen who came to Virginia from Ireland, Cork County, on a ship named "The Pearl." He fought in the American Revoluntionary War, and settled in Orangeburg, S.C. My grandmother was Leila Bolen Odom who lived in Norway and Orangeburg, S.C. She was married to Ealy Abraham Odom, DDS. They had 4 children: Murray David Odom, E.A. Odom, Dorothy Odom, and another daughter. My father is Murray David Odom, who married Emily Carolyn Johnson. They had 4 children: Linda (me), Susan, Tommy and Garland. Leila Bolen Odom, Murray Odom, and Tommy Odom are buried in Orangeburg.

There is a Bolen Family Tree which will give a lot more information.

I would more than happy to help anyone with information regarding the Edward Bolen and Ealy Abraham Odom families from Orangeburg, S.C. I am an "Odom" family member through my first relative to come to Virginia from Cork County, Ireland, on the ship named The Pearl, who was Edward Bolen.

Hello Linda,

I see you have uploaded your DNA for comparison. Did you know we have a project for DNA where a lot of great new things are happening?

If you are interested and would like to check it out, go to the FIND link top right of your profile page, select PROJECTS from the drop down box, and then select the link for the DNA project.

It has information listed that might be of interest to you, and feel free to contact any of the members if you would like additional details.
