Margaret Ogilvy married Gilbert Ramsay later apparent of Bamff, Alyth, Perthshire, in 1482. Their contract of marriage was dawn up on 10 April 1482 and agreed between her father then Sir James Ogilvy of Airlie and Gilbert's father Alexander Ramsay of Woodwray son of Findlay Ramsay of Bamff whereby Gilbert was to marry Margaret before Whitsunday.[1]
Exactly a year later on 10 April 1483, Gilbert Ramsay baron of Bamff made a Precept of Sasine for infefting his grandson Gilbert Ramsay and his wife Margaret Ogilvy in the lands of Mawes and Pitdray. [2] They took sasine of these lands on 8 July 1483 when her brother Thomas Ogilvy acted as bailie for the ceremony and Patrick Ogilvy of Kelebrocht represented Margaret. Among others also present were her brother german Archibald and John who was a natural son of her father.[3]

Margaret Ogilvy died after her son Neis. She was apparently still infeft in the lands of Mawes and Pitdray on 29 Oct 1530, when her grandson Alexander took sasine of the Barony of Bamff excepting the lands of Mawes and Pitrday. [6] [7]
