Biography

Susannah Tapley Oldham, the daughter of John Dodson Oldham (abt.1775-1851) and Hepzibah Sarah Selby (1770-1850), was born about 23 March 1800 in North Carolina. [1]

Apparently she was married twice 1) Robert Hopper and 2) John Green.

In the 1850 U.S. Census, Susannah Green was recorded as 52-years old (born about 1798 in NC) living in Grayson County, Kentucky with husband John Green, age 58, and her two sons, John T Hopper and Thomas M. Hopper. In addition, William Miller, Philadelphia A. She died 1 April 1890. Her burial place is unknown but some believe she was buried at Hopper Cemetery, Yeaman, Grayson County, Kentucky. [1]

Susannah Tapley Oldham, the daughter of John Tapley and Sibba or Sibia (Unknown) Oldham, was born on March 23, 1800 in North Carolina. She was the wife of Robert A. Hopper, the son of Thomas Hopper and Nancy Stewart, who was born about 1798 in South Carolina. Susannah and Robert were married on December 23, 1819 in Hart County, Kentucky. They were living in Grayson County, Kentucky by 1850.

Robert A. Hopper died on January 17, 1844. He was buried in the Hopper Cemetery near Yeaman, Grayson County, Kentucky. There are many unmarked granves in this small family cemetery. His is one of them. Susannah Hopper was married to John Green at the time of the 1850 Census of Grayson County. She was buried with Robert Hopper after her death 46 years later on April 1, 1890.
