Biography

Simon was the son of Josiah Oliver and Elizabeth Unknown.

He married Sarah Holsapple on April 18, 1867 in Caldwell County, Kentucky.^[1]

They were the parents of:

• John R. Oliver
• Hestry Ann Oliver

Simon served in the Civil War as a Private, Company -, 3rd Regiment, Kentucky Cavalry and later military unit Third Cavalry, N-Z, Third and Seventh (Consolidated) Cavalry, Third Battalion, Mounted Rifles.^[2]
