Jane's parents were John Oliver and Sarah Elizabeth Edwards Oliver. Their marriage date was recorded on January 22, 1783, in Johnston, North Carolina.[1][2](See Gravestone Inscription below.)
North America, Family Histories 1500-2000 for John Oliver Daughters of the American Revolution Lineage Book of the Charter Members of the DAR Vol 039, has a John Oliver, 1750-99, who served in the North Carolina Line as an Ensign. It also states that he was born in Petersburg, Virginia and died in Wilkes County, Georgia.[3]

1850 U.S. Census for Meriwether, Georgia; Jane M. Martin. Jane is 65 years old and living with her spouse, Marshal Martin, and two males, Abram C. at 26 and Peter M. who is 22. Value of their real estate is sizable compared to the neighbors, valued at $7500. Both Jane and her husband were listed as being born in South Carolina and both boys in Georgia.[15]
Death and Burial
Jane McCart(ne)y Oliver died at the age of 66 on 22 Aug 1852, in Meriwether County, Georgia. She is buried in the Marshall Martin Family Cemetery in Meriwther.[16][17]
Gravestone Inscription:
"Sacred to the Memory of Jane McCarty wife of Marshall Martin and daughter of John & Elizabeth Oliver born July 19, 1786 died August 22, 1852. She was an acceptable member of the M. E. Church for 41 years."[18]
