Although there is no record at the office of Monte Vista Cemetery, it is believed that she is buried there. Emily Belton Stump, a granddaughter, stated that a place was set aside prior to the later commercial development of the cemetery for people to bury their dead at no cost, however there were mo records kept aside from private family records. Obituary:Mrs. Mary Jane Rominger was born January 26, 1843 and died July 2, 1894 age fifty one years, five months and six days. She professed faith in Christ and united with the Baptist church at Zionsville, N.C. about the year 1860, and lived a consistent Christian life since that time. Mrs. Rominger was a faithful wife and good mother. She was especially noted for her truthfulness, honesty, and industry. During her last illness she often declared her faith in Christ and said she was going home to be with her children who had gone before her. She died in the full triumph of a Christian faith, and no doubt is at rest, free from sorrow and pain. A short time before she died she asked to have the song familiar to her which she often sung, "Dying in the Field of Battle Fighting for the Lord.' The song was sung at the last meeting she ever attended, thus she died as she had lived - a faithful Christian woman - and has gone to her reward. The home will be lonely without her, and her husband and children will miss her sadly, but " Heaven is nearer and Christ is dearer than ever before." She filled a humble sphere well and was thus one of God's truly great ones, to whom he will say: "Well done thou good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joys of the Lord." "Wherefore comfort one another with these words." A friend.
