Biography

NoteThere is confusion as to which woman this is between two sisters, Thomasse or Marie. Her marriage records and records of baptisms of her children and their marriages only ever use the name Marie, except for one record which names her Jeanne, which appears to have been an error on the priest's part as the bride in that record was named Jeanne. Some sources state it was Marie Thomasse, some Marie Anne, and some just use Marie. Birth date used above is that of Thomasse, who is actually baptized with only the name Thomas (sic) on 23 June 1674 in Sorel^[1]. Marie was baptized 9 April 1684 in Sorel.

NOTE: Le site Francogene croit que celle qui a épousé François Lemoine et Jacques Jaquenot est en fait Marie née en 1684. Francogene Elle n'est jamais nommée autre chose que Marie sur les actes sauf un où elle est nommée Marie Jeanne.^[2]

Funeral in 1734 is for the wife of Jaqueno (second husband), no other death date has been found for these sisters, nor any other record. She is given the age of 66 on the record. It is known that her sister Marie Anne married elsewhere.

Widow Marie Olivier remarried on 17 Feb 1721 in Notre-Dame de Québec basilica with Jacques Jaquenot dit St-Onge, native of PAROISSE DE GRAND-JEAN, DIOCESE DE SAINTES, (Charente-Maritime), France, son of Jean Jaquenot and Renée Gauverite.^[5]

No known children of this marriage.

Death: She dies in 1734, funeral on 4 December in Québec (ND). Her name is not listed on the record, she is only recorded as femme du nommé +Jaqueno, aged around 66.^[6]

Jacques dies on 18 Feb 1743 in Hôtel-Dieu de Québec, buried on the 19th in their cemetery^[7], age given him is 60. His name is written there as Jacques Nau dit Xaint-Onge, his origin cited as ST-JEAN-D'ANGELI. He had been hospitalized on the 14th:
