Samuel Olmsted served with 9th Regiment, Connecticut Militia during the American Revolution.

Samuel Olmsted is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A086312.

Samuel Olmsted was born in 1712 in East Hartford, Connecticut the son of Nehemiah and Clemence (Hosmer) Olmsted.

He married Jerusha Pitkin about 1757 and they had eleven children:

  2. Dorothy Olmsted, 1759
  3. Jerusha Olmsted, 1760-1837
  4. Huldah Olmsted, 1763-1807
  5. Martha Olmsted, 1764-1840
  6. Samuel Olmsted, 1766-1848
  7. Elisha Olmsted, 1768-1858
  8. Russell Olmsted, 1771
  9. Clemence Olmsted, 1773-1861
  10. Esther Olmsted, 1775-1809
  11. Mary Olmsted, 1778-1827

Samuel died April 23, 1801 at age 67 in East Hartford, Connecticut.[1]

Research Notes

Death record gives an age of 67, calculating back to Samuel being born around 1734. I am unsure why Samuel is often attributed a birth around 1712.
