Baptised at Johanneskirken, Dec 11, 1904. Married at Sandviken, Feb 7, 1931. Worked as a mechanic on MS Vigrid during the war. Died of exposure in a lifeboat after MS Vigrid was torpedoed on Jun 24, 1941 by U-371.
A biography exists in vol. 3 of the book "Våre falne 1939-1945" (Our fallen: 1939-1945). A translation reads: OLSEN, ARNE WALDEMAR, motorman, Bergen. Born February 7, 1904 in Bergen, son of Oskar Olsen, d. 1934, and Karoline Knudsen. Married 1931 in Bergen with Klara Horgen, b. 1905 in Austevoll. 2 children. Was during the war a fireman [stoker] on the steamboat Corvus. Came later on the motorboat Vigrid as a "motormann" [engineer]. Deceased June 24, 1941 when the ship was torpedoed in the Atlantic, on a journy from New Orleans to Manchester and Belfast.
