Services for Mervin T. Olson, 51, of Bagley, who died October 29, will be held at the Cease Chapel in Bagley Thursday at 2 p.m. with burial in the Bagley City Cemetery. Military rites will be by the Irvin Blix Post No. 16 of Bagley.
Mr. Olson was born at Bagley on March 7, 1921, the son of Simon and Mabel Swanson Olson, and had lived in Bagley all of his life with the exception of service during World War II. During WWII he served aboard the Aircraft Carrier Lexington and was aboard when the ship was sunk in the South Pacific. He was unmarried.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Richard Willerton (Stella) of South St. Paul and Mrs. Bernard Halverson (Lorraine) of Grand Forks; three brothers, Chester of East Grand Forks, Floyd of Anoka and Lyle of Grand Forks.
