William is the son of Edward Olson and Mary Harrison.
William was a dedicated farmer of Ayrshire animals like his father Edward, he established the well known "Braeside" Ayrshire Stud which was well known all around New Zealand. His interest in agriculture and horticulture is continued by his great grandchildren. He was a very active member of the Egmont Village Bowling Club and played bowls all his life.
William was born 17 February 1879, in Egmont Village, New Plymouth District, Taranaki, New Zealand. [1]
He Married Jenny Florence (Tuck) Olson in 1903 in New Zealand. They had five children, Ada Mary Olson, Dorothy Mabel Olson, Harold Frederick Olson, Gwendoline Edith Olson, Betty Newall Olson. [2]
