Biography

Roelof was baptized on 26 June 1698 by a domine of the Reformed Dutch Church of Kingston, New York. He was recorded as the child of Jan Oosteroom and Magteltje Roelofs.[1]

Roelof married Maria Relje. They had son Rulof baptized 30 Oct. 1726 and he was most likely the Roelof Oostrom Jr. in Crum Elbow Precinct. Roelof Oostrun was taxed in South Ward and Rombout Precinct from Feb. 1724/25 through 1738. He was a Deacon at the Poughkeepsie Reformed Church in January 1753.[2]

He witnessed the birth of grandson Roelof, son of Henric Oostrum and Mareitje Westfaal, on 20 August 1758 in the Reformed Dutch Church of Poughkeepsie and the Flats, Dutchess County, New York. [3]
