William was born in 1803. William is the child of William Ord and Mary Scott. [1]
He was schooled at Eton prior to being admitted to Trinity College, Cambridge University on May 19, 1821 at the age of 18. William attained his B.A. in 1825, was admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1824, and received his M.A. in 1828. During his time at Cambridge he was President of the Union in 1822.[2]
William sat as a Member of Parliament for Newport, Isle of Wight from 1832-1837, and held the position of Lord Commissioner of the Treasury in 1835.
He married on November 8, 1829 to Frances Vere, daughter of Sir William Loraine, Bart., of Kirkharle, Northumberland.[3]
William died without heirs in November of 1838.
