Joseph's birthdate is unknown, but he was baptized in East Hampton, Suffolk, NY, 7 Oct 1705.[1]

18 Oct 1733, Joseph Osborn, 3rd, & Hanna Hedges are mentioned in the Records of East-Hampton.[2]

On 16 Nov 1786, Joseph stated and signed his Will. Text of his Will: In the Name of God Amen. I Joseph Osborn of Easthampton in the county of Suffolk and State of New York, Yeoman, , being indisposed in body but of sound mind and memory do make this my last will and testament in form and manner following..-- Imprimis I give unto my son Joseph Osborn and to his heirs and assigns forever the house and lot of land wherein he now dwells which I bought of Samuel Hedges lying in Easthampton and also my Westplain Close and my Orchard Close at Norwest plain and four acres of Commonage and one equal half of all the rest of my lands meadows and rights of land not hereafter given away otherwise. I also give unto my (text ?) son Joseph and to his eldest son the use and improvement of half my shop Barkmill, Tan house, tan Vats during their natural lives and one equal half of all my personal estate not otherwise given away after my debts and legacies are paid.---Item, I give unto my two grandsons the sons of my late son Lewis namely Abraham and Septimus Osborn equally and to their heirs and assigns forever my now dwelling house and home lot lying in Easthampton adjoining to Thomas Talmage Southerly and to the heirs of John Mulfor Northerly and the other equal half of all the rest of my lands meadows and rights of lands not otherwise given away they not hindering my son Joseph and his eldest son of their right of improvement in the shop, barkmill, tan house and tan vat during their natural lives, I also give them the other eual half of all my personal estate not otherwise given away after my depts and legacies are paid, but if it should happen that my tow grandsons aforesaid should die before they arrive at age, the my Will is that such part of my lands as I have given to such grandsons shall go to my son Joseph and to his heirs and assigns forever. --- Then I give unto my daughter in law Prushce Osborn the use and improvement of such part of my land and building as I have given to her two sons Apraham and Septimus until they shall respectively arrive at age in case she shall remain a widow and the use of one third part of the lands and buildings during her widowhood. I also give her half my sheep at Gardiner's Island.---Then I give unto my daughter Mary Osborn the sum of thirty pounds and all my household goods and the use of one end of my dwelling house during her single state and my estate to keep her a Cow summer and winter. I also give her the other half of my sheep at Gardners Island. ---Item: I give unto my grandaughter Hannah Dayton the sum of fifteen pounds and all the household goods (and) clothing that was her mothers. --- Item: I give unto my grand daughter Esther Osborn the sum of fifteen pounds. --- Lastly I do constitute and appoint my son Joseph Osborn and my brother in law Stephen Hedges joint Executors of this my last will and testament ratifying and confirming this to be my last Will and testament.---In Witness where as I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixteenth day of November Anno Domini One thousand and seven hundred and eighty six. His headstone, a replacement, reads, "IN MEMORY OF DEACON JOSEPH OSBORN WHO DIED NOV 21st ,1786, IN THE 82nd YEAR OF HIS AGE"[6]

RESEARCH NOTE: The Osborn(e) births and deaths in Danvers, MA, are not related closely to Osborn-1211, his ancestors or descendants. I base this on the fact that there a NO Jeremiahs in Danvers, MA, during this time. [7]
