Biography

Joseph was born in 1823 in Allonby, Cumberland. He was was the son of John and Ann and was christened on May 31, 1823. [1]

Joseph Osborn married Jane Roper in Liverpool on May 26, 1846. [2]

In 1881 Joseph was an unemployed master mariner living in Everton with his wife Jane and their two sons. [3]

In 1901 Joseph was a retired master mariner, he was in Seaforth, Lancashire. He was living with his daughter Jane Hivey and son-in-law William Hivey and their children. His son Richard was also there. [4]

Joseph was a master mariner according to the family headstone in Allonby. He died in 1908. [5][6]

Joseph Osborn married Bilhah (Steel) in Workington in 1764. They were the parents of John Osborn who married Ann Pattinson. Their son Joseph was born 1823 and died 1908. Somehow the generations have been jumbled up.
