Biography

Johanna (or Joanna) Osborne, daughter of Henry Osborne, was baptized 13 Sep 1562[1]. Unfortunately an original parish image is not available but this is likely the same book of typed transcriptions as the one held in Salt Lake City at the Family History Library in British Books call# 942.575/A4 K29a.

Her name is most often written and transcribed as "Osborne" in the attached records.

Johanna and Richard Saunders were married in Amersham on 7 Oct 1582[2] and [3]

She was buried as "Joanna Saunders wife of Richard" in Amersham on 27 Jan 1614/15.[4] Richard's May 1629 nuncupative will listed only their son Tobias, supporting the idea that this burial is the correct record and Johanna pre-deceased Richard.

Feb 2020
This profile was associated with the Goodman genealogy fraud but has been researched and improved to hopefully remove any false or speculative information. The valuable discussion and research it is here.

The Goodman genealogy fraud apparently used invalid sources such as:

I have doubts that Johanna existed as described. See the proposed bio of Richard. I found credible citations for 2 wives, 7 children. Only one child matches Joahanna'schild, but his mother is supposedly Elizabeth Blount.

Hi Susan, there is some fascinating conversation going on right now on what looks like 2 Richard Saunders of Amersham, one a miller married to Joan Osborne and one armigerous married to Elizabeth Blount. I've tried to capture the gist on the Saunders-37 profile (Tobias Sr.) which I adopted which includes a link to the G2G discussion and some great research that has gone on there. Just wanted to give you a heads up since you've obviously done some looking at these profiles.
