Please change the LNAB on this profile from Ostrander to Pietersen or Pieterzen. This is a case of mistaken identity. This person never was an Ostrander.

I oppose merging this profile (Ostrander-221) into Pietersen-70. Let's keep this profile for the other Pieter Pietersen who has been confused with Pieter Pietersen (Ostrander).

Should this person be deleted and replaced by Pietersen-70?

This man was not named Ostrander. Could the profile please be unlocked and then could one of the profile managers please change the LNAB to Pietersen?

(Furthermore, it is not clear if he ever emigrated to America, married Tryntje Van Der Lande, or died in Kingston, as the profile currently states.)

This profile is full of errors.

Formerly, the progenitors of the Ostrander family were said to be a Pieter Pietersen (presumably born about 1620) who married Tryntje Van De Lande. This Pieter Pietersen was further identified as a soldier who arrived in New Netherland in 1660. However, research first published in 1999 has shown this to be wrong. Pieter Carstensen and Geesje Jans are the parents of Pieter Pietersen, whose progeny use(d) the Ostrander name.

Pieter Petersen and Tryntje Van der Lande did exist, but that Pieter was not the child of Pieter Carstensen and he is not connected to the Ostrander name.

I will disconnect this man from the false parents. The LNAB should be changed to Pietersen, and he should be removed from the New Netherland project.

Changed mis-applied NNS Category to Merge Notice Category (see Approval System for details of the categories). Based on comment on father's changes - "Name "Ostrander" was adopted by the next generation in 18th century in America" - I think Ostrander isn't correct here.
