See also: History of Campbellsburg, page 474: A resident of Campbellsburg in late 1850. In September of 1859 he was part of the drug firm of Lee and Overman. Listed in the census of 1860 as a 31 year old master saddler and listed again as Lee and Overman in May of 1861. Served as Pstmaster from June 29, 1861 until January of 1865. Listed in the 1862-1863 business directory as Postmaster, ambroypist, and jeweler - "a dealer in and reparier of clocks and watches,k also a photgraphic artist." Listed as in the same professions, except for Postmaster, in the business directory for 1866-1867. In 1870 he was located at Mitchell, Indiana as a photographer. In November of 1875 he became associated with Frank Brewer in the jewelry business of Overman and Brewer and the shop was moved to South Sycamore Street in December of 1875. Indications are that Brewer left the firm in January of 1877 and that Overman sold to J.L. Shanks in August of 1877. In 1877 and 1878 Overman was mentioned as local agent for the George Woods ORgan Company as well as for Emerson pianos. In January of 1879 he shipped a organ, which had made himself, to his brother, Dr. Overman at Salem. Abaout 1891 he opened a jewelry store in the Odd Fellows Building and operated this until about 1896. Mentioned as local agent for Auto-tone pianos in June 1909. Died August 16, 1910

Signed incorporation papers for Campbellsburg High School Corporation (membership cost $25). It was a private school incorporated April 24, 1867 in order to establish a high school free from any church orgainzation or other influence whatsoever. History of Campbellsburg 108-9 (School in existnece only until about 1870)

A defeated candidate in Ward 3 for Town Trustee May 6 1878. Received 1 vote History of Campbellsburg 143

On the night of February 6, 1894 the safe in the jewelry store of AXiom Overman, located in the Odd Fellows Bidling, was blown opn and about $400 in
