DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Anne by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Anne:
Overton-3456 and Overton-53 appear to represent the same person because: same husband and child, lack of primary sources for dates shown. Please use best judgement with estimated dates.
I would like to add, that I've seen Anne's middle name as Elizabeth. I'll look for sources. So possibly Anne Elizabeth Overton. I do believe that she a daughter from William Overton and Mary Waters. My family group has several hits with Andersons' descended from her sister Mary Elizabeth Overton. Thus we would share William Overton and Mary Waters. However this is a deep hit at the limits of autosomal comparisons
The birthdate in the sources for John Dabney Pettus (1704) LOOKS WAY off to marry this Anne. Look at the childrens' birthdates. I don't have daughter Susan (b 1704) or son William (b. 1711). I have Anne (b. abt 1702) m. Eggleston; Thomas (b abt 1712) m. Walker; John (b. 1716) father of Barbara O, who married a Thomas Pettus.; Lucy (b 1718) m. Humphrey
