John Owens is buried at Jenkins Chapel. There is no marker but he is believed to be buried in the same row as his children.
Dennis Owens said that the Owens name is Welch and that our direct ansecers came from Old Texas, AL and that there is a Owens cenitary in Old Texas with much information on head stones. Dennis also said that one direct ansestor was a U.S. Senitor George Washington Owens. Dennis thought that I should start my genoligical work on the owens name by talking to a Ms. Cathey McCoy" (Add the curiarator of the Monroville Musieum (Her phone number is 334-575-7433). Burt said that he has a cousin (Florance Bert Waters, husband David living in Bamuda and that has prepaid a family tree for the Owens'. Burt did not know Florance phone number but Charles or Lin Rylon would have it. Monroeville Public Libary is 334-743-3818. Ms. Brooks opperates the genelogicial department of this libary and her work schedule is 12 noon to 6:00 PM.
