Uncle Orville loved to fish and hunt. He was the bee man for the family, he would rob the honey without anything to protect him. * He was noodling before anyone else even knew what it was. When the family headed to Blackjack (we camped on the banks of the Attoyac River). Orville and Dude kept us supplied with meat. I had my first alligator there and I have seen them feed the entire family (about 40) on two fish.

The thing I remember most about Orville is that he loved children.

Uncle Orville had a pronounced stutter, and a soft southern drawl. He was tall, but i don't know what his actual height was.

  • Orvel is buried in Lower Melrose Cemetery in Nacogdoches County, along with his wife and only child Leonard
