Notes

Note N17Martin lived with Patrick and Ella Owens. He was a second father to Margaret and Michael, always the one to indulge the children.
Martin was extremely keen to see Margaret have children. However, he died beforehand:
On St. Patricks night, as any decent Irishman would do, he got very drunk. Having got home, he staggered up the stairs, but turned to talk to Ella Owens at half way up. However he tripped and fell. He hit his head on the corner ballistrade, at the foot of the stairs. This directly caused his death, which took an agonising number of days to occur.
