Marriage bond
They were the parents of the following children:
Mary and her husband, Major Hancock, Jr., signed a deed in 1807 recorded in Goochland County, Virginia, wherein they deeded their interest in 25 5/8 acres on the waters of Lickinghole Creek to her brother, William Page. It was their 1/4 part of the land of her father, James Page.[5]
Mary died after 1810 in Spartanburg District, South Carolina.[2]
Dolores Rutherford, (of California, now deceased) an extensive researcher of the Page family, quoted Marriages of Goochland Co., Virginia by Williams, Kathleen Booth, 1960, as having a marriage date of 14 Apr 1794,. The Williams book shows Mary's father as William, an error. The actual marriage bond, quoted above, shows her father as James Page. See Goochland County Virginia Court Orders, 1728-1805.
