Mary Ann Payne/Paine, daughter of William Payne, carpenter of Beckley. Was a farm servant and dairywoman, a Baptist who could read and write.

Arrived as assisted immigrants on the "Woodbridge" ex London. Walter was assigned to a Mr. Jones of Maitland NSW and worked on one of his properties at Reedy Camp near Bolwarra. Walter appears to have stayed at Reedy Camp until 1842. In 1843 he was at Allandale and by 1846 at Oswald where he remained. He died 1885 and is buried at Oswald.
