"On Mar 4, 1756, Peter Pain wrote his will. It was proved Jul 26, 1756, and recorded in Lib. F. p. 370. (New Jersey Calendar of Wills, Vol III, 1750-1760)

It is recorded, "Pain, Peter, of Woodbridge, Middlesex County, husbandman; will of. Wife, Mary. Children - John (youngest son and under age), Peter (eldest son), Mary (wife of John McCarter), Zeruiah (wife of John Sharp), Hannah (wife of John Bush), Alpheus, Abraham, Rachel, and Elizabeth. Real and personal estate. Executors - the wife, sons Peter and Abraham, and Jonathan Frazee. Witnesses - Samuel Freeman, David Stuard, Jr., and Timothee Frazee."

Peter and Mary Pain (Paine, Payne) were buried in the Woodbridge Presbyterian Church yard in Middlesex County, New Jersey. His tombstone reads, "HERE LIETH Mr. Peter Pain who departed this life July the 10th A. D. 1756 71 years of his Age."" - Larry Cornwell, FindAGrave.com
