A search of NZ newspaper archives (Papers Past) does not give us a death notice for Emily, nor is she mentioned in her husband's death notice (see images) in 1924.

Emily is buried next to her husband, Alfred, in Wairoa Cemetery, Hawkes Bay. Plot number 3830. Tony Corbett [Corbett-903] visited the grave in Apr 2017. Her husband, Alfred's, grave is marked, however there is no marker for Emily. According to cemetery records she is buried (named as Mrs Alfred James) next to her husband.
