The modern reputation of Edward's first-born son, John, as a gambler is from a misidentification - the gambler was his "younger brother, later executed for supporting the Duke of Northumberland."[3]
Notes
Birth about 1450 is a guess based on his oldest son born "by 1495".[3] One online database has birth as 1478.[11]
Marriage about 1494 also based on his oldest son born "by 1495".[3]
Death about 1516 based on biography of son John, which says that John succeeded his father in 1516.[3]
