In 1881 Catherine lived with her son James in Ernestown. In 1891 Catherine lived with her son George in Sarnia. At some point her son Allen built a house for his mother.[1]
She died of enterocolitis and cystitis, which had lasted for eight weeks, in Sarnia on October 14, 1891.[2] She is buried in Lakeview Cemetery, Sarnia.[3]
