SORGENFREI, Irene W – Age 84, passed away Saturday, May 31, 1997 in a local hospital She was born February 20, 1913 in Bessie, North Dakota to Owen A. and Jennie M. (Holmes) Palmer. In July 1946 she moved from Watertown, South Dakota to Roseburg. In November 1968, in Roseburg, she married Stanley Sorgenfrei. Mrs. Sorgenfrei enjoyed gardening, sewing and collecting china. Survivors include her husband, Stanley Sorgenfrei of Roseburg; son, Glenn E. Tigner and his wife Marilyn of Napa, California; sister, Blanche Hanneman and her husband Darrell of Roseburg; brother, Marvin Palmer and his wife Rita also of Roseburg; granddaughters, Lynette Martinez and her husband David of Newark, California, Teri Whitaker of Burlingame, California, and Tami L. Tigner of Corvallis, Oregon; four great-granddaughters and one great-grandson. Mrs. Sorgenfrei was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Meyers and Lucille Johnson. Graveside services were held Wednesday, June 4, 1997 at 10 a.m. within the grounds of Roseburg Memorial Gardens. Pastor Jef Johnson officiated. LONG & SHUKLE MEMORIAL CHAPEL was in charge of arrangements.
