Bathsheba Palmer was born 04 June 1718, in Little Compton, Newport, Rhode Island, British Colonies. [1] Rhode Island was the first British colony in America to formally declare its independence, doing so on May 4, 1776, a full two months before the national Declaration of Independence.[2]

She married Joseph Head on 27 November 1737, in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, United States.[3]
They had a small family, with children named Phebe Head, Ruth Head, Jonathan Head and Richard Head.
