Sarah Jane Palmer was born 1849 in Rock Island, Illinois to Benjamin Palmer and Albina White. Sarah moved with her parents to Pottawattamie, Iowa at a young age. She met and married Jonathan Jackson Hall Jr. here and they went on to farm in Little Sioux, Woodbury County, Iowa. Sarah and John J had 8 children before she died 20 May 1883. Her youngest child was under 1 year old when Sarah died.
