Biography

Note: Per both the Wheeler (1900) History of Stonington and the Palmer Groups reference sources cited below, this Peleg Palmer was the third child of Bridget (Stanton), the second wife of Abijah Palmer, born 24 Jan 1754, who was later married to Mary Burch. He was not the son of Ichabod and Elizabeth (Noyes) Palmer, and is not listed among their children within the referenced source. The indicated parental detachments & re-attachments have been made herewith.

He married 1 Mar 1779 at Stonington, Connecticut, Mary Burch. They had about 9 children during the ensuing timeframe through August 1799, as profiled, all born at Stonington.

Peleg Palmer was an officer in the customs, and was lost in a snowstorm while off the coast of Block Island soon after the year 1808.
