Note: Joseph moved to Auburn, NY where he worked in the carpet mills, presumably where he met his future wife, whose family also worked in the mills. He was a mechanic, a "loom fixer" according to the 1900 census. He was for a time a pastor of the Christadelphian faith in the Fingerlakes area of New York State. Later he moved back to the town of Genoa and worked the family farm and shared the family home and related businesses with his brother Clarence, until his death.
The headline on the July 17, 1931 edition of the Genoa Tribune reads "Joseph Albert Palmer, well known man, dies."
