My note says he had 6 children but I can't remember where I got that info.
1850 Census has him age 32 living in Stockbridge, Berkshire Co., MA with wife Maria, age 21, and Jane E. , age 1. Maria was born in NY state.
Correction to 1850 Census: Sam E. Palmer, age 1.
Also living with him is his brother Mallory, age 16.
Living with the family were Ellen O'Neal, age 28, born in Ireland, and Ann O'Neal age 6, born in Ireland.
1850 Census - MA - Berkshire - Stockbridge, p. 091.
1860 Census has him as Justin Palmer age 41 living in New Marlborough, Berkshire, MA with wife Maria, age 32, and Jane, age 11 and John age 9 and Mary age 7 and Ellen age 4.
1880 Census has him with Maria, age 50, Mary, age 27, and George, age 12.
