Noah Dow, in 1760, lived above Andrew Locke's on the opposite side of the highway on the quarter acre lot adjoining the road and now owned by Daniel J. Parsons. The old well is still to be seen under the hill. Dow was a very " little man" and had a son Nathan who removed into the country. Noah Dow m Greenland May 21, 1761, Elizabeth Palmer (Phoebe in Hist Rye). Hist Rye has little to say about him. He was diminutive, the shortest manin Rye. A grandson writes he was a farmer, but tax book gives him only } acre. Hist Rye dismisses the family, saying son Nathan moved into the country.
