William Palmer immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).

William Palmer was a son of Walter Palmer[1][2]and UNKNOWN-10532, his first wife. His birth location was in England, prior to the emigration of his father and 4 siblings from England to the Massachusetts Bay Colony in about 1629.

William Palmer remained with his brother John Palmer in Charlestown, Massachusetts, until after the death of their father (in 1661), who by that time had moved away from the Boston hub, co-founding the settlements of Rehoboth (at that time adjunct to the Plymouth Colony), and Stonington, Connecticut.

By all published accounts William Palmer remained unmarried.

William Palmer died in 1697 in Killingworth, Connecticut.
