Biography
James Palmer was born 4/18/1799 in Richmond Co., GA,, the second known child of Jonathan Palmer and Martha White. On 8/4/1825, he and Mary Coleman Collins were married in Richmond Co. Jesse Kent was Sec. for the marriage bond. Mary Coleman Collins was born 4/22/1808 in Richmond Co., the daughter of Martha Allen and Lewis Collins. James Palmer died 2/2/1884 at his home in Richmond Co. and Mary Collins Palmer died 3/8/1896, They are buried at the Linwood Church Cem., today on the grounds of Fort Gordon, near Augusta, GA designated as Cem. #30.
