Lawrence M. “Larry” Palmer, age 69, died April 17, 2010 at his home in Alexandria, VA after a battle with cancer. He served in the U.S. Navy, and worked with several communication organizations which included the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the National Telecommunication Information Administration (NTIA), and following his retirement in 1995, Larry formed a private consulting business focusing on international communications. Following his retirement from consulting, he began producing a radio show for WEZU radio station in Roanoke Rapids, NC. Larry was an avid collector and lover of all bluegrass music, and was a longtime resident of the Washington DC area.
Survivors include his two brothers: Robert Palmer of Solon Springs, WI and Thomas Palmer of Hudson, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 7, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. Visitation time is from 11:30 am until the time of services. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd. Military Honors by the Brainerd American Legion Post 255.[1]
