Biography

Giles was born in 1528.

Giles was named as third son in the 1553 will of his father John.^[1]

"Sir Nicholas [Overbury] married Mary, daughter of Giles Palmer, kinsman of Richard Palmer who built Bourton House in 1570. . ." Egidius GILES Palmer Also found Born 1538 Eqidius was born in 1528. He passed away in 1590. "In 1382 the land in Bourton was held by Edmund Stonor with his land in Condicote with which it descended until after 1565. This estate was often called BOURTON-ON-THE-HILL AND CONDICOTE." In the floor of the chancel of St. Leonard's Church in Lower Lemington, Gloucestershire, is a brass plate commemorating Charles Greville and his brother Peter Greville, patrons of the chapel, who died in 1616. Presumably they were relations of the last members of the Palmer family to own the manor. Richard Palmer and his son "were dealing with the manor in 1587" but by 1627 it was owned by Henry Compton.
